Changing a Major Death Scene in Harry Potter?? **Spoilers **

** Harry Potter Nerd Alert... with Spoilers for the Upcoming Movie**

(What am I going to do when the movies are over??)

I came across a VERY IMPORTANT news article the other day.

According to Andrew Ackland-Snow, the art director for the Harry Potter series, the death scene of Severus Snape has been altered. As a reminder, the discovery of Severus Snape’s true loyalty, love, and other essential recollections were revealed during this poignant scene.  (I feel that) this was the ultimate turning point of the ENTIRE series.

As reported by HPNA,  Ackland-Snow disclosed "We wanted to change a bit where Snape dies. In the book, he dies on the Shrieking Shack, and we wanted to get him out from, not a conventional interior, but from that kind of box, to do it in a more dramatic atmosphere. We asked J.K. if she agreed for that to happen in there, because we hadn't really seen it before. We made a crystal house, and you can see what happens in the boat house from there - Are you listening Harry? -, but also the school is in flames...and she loved it. Besides, it's a very romantic place to die. Snape dies in a extremely good way, I gotta say."

For those that haven’t read the books, the fact that Snape and Lily (Harry’s mom) even knew each other will come as a shock. To try to convince the viewers that not only did Snape love Lily, but that he protected Harry and gave his life for Harry  because of that love will be extremely difficult. To do this with a backdrop that wasn’t even important to the characters or story line will be interesting.

Burning down the Weasley House in “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” is one thing. Changing up Snape’s death scene is another. Some things you just don’t mess with. I hope this scene is good or MANY fans will be very disappointed. There isn’t another movie that will come after this one to fix it… so I hope the minds behind this last movie have thought about the change very, very carefully.

What do you think? Will it make a difference?

PS... Exciting news! While looking for pictures to use in the post, I found a website with pictures from the "Epilogue" taping... I almost didn't recognize Ginny and Harry! Click Here or Here to see our favorite characters with their kids!
